Pre-Qualified Measures

This program provides incentives of up to $125 when replacing existing appliances with ENERGY STAR®-labeled versions.
ENERGY STAR®-qualified appliances incorporate advanced technologies that use 10-50% less energy and water than standard models.

This program offers incentives to consumers to recycle old working refrigerators and replace them with ENERGY STAR® products. The IEEP will schedule the pick-up of your old refrigerator, will properly recycle it, and provide an incentive to the customer for doing so.

This program offers incentives to consumers to recycle old working refrigerators and replace them with ENERGY STAR® products. Over a lifetime, an old refrigerator can produce as much as 10 tons of CO2, a primary contributor to climate change. Replacing old, inefficient refrigerators with ENERGY STAR®-labeled versions can keep the equivalent of the CO2 emissions from two cars out of the atmosphere.

Qualified Measures

This program encourages municipal commercial electric customers to upgrade their equipment with energy efficient replacements. Lighting and motors account for a significant portion of energy use in commercial buildings. Upgrading this equipment can help reduce operating costs while improving the look and operation of the facility. Incentives are provided for each technology that meets the minimum energy efficiency criteria. For projects costing $2000 or less, pre-approval is not required.

Thermal infrared imaging has become a valuable tool in performing infrared energy audits in residential and commercial applications. The infrared camera displays heat energy as a visual image. This program measure provides an incentive for infrared cameras for energy use.

Emergency Standby Generator: This enables emergency power systems to rely on generators

This program promotes effective, energy-efficient lighting solutions that cost less to operate and result in better lighting, allowing people to see more clearly. Training sessions on effective lighting design and implementation are offered to distributors, contractors, and designers. Apply now for:

Cash incentives for qualified lighting projects.

Cash awards for program competitions based on the number of small commercial spaces upgraded with effective lighting.

Demonstration project awards for exemplary lighting designs in small commercial spaces.

Education Measures

ENERGY STAR® CFLs use 75% less energy and last ten times longer than standard incandescent bulbs.

ENERGY STAR® CFLs provide the greatest savings in fixtures that are powered on for a substantial amount of time each day.

ENERGY STAR® recommends CFLs for fixtures that are used at least 15 minutes at a time or several hours a day.

Renewable Measures

Hybrid technologies improve fuel efficiency and provide fuel savings compared to normal, petrol-only vehicles.Hybrids powered by a combination of petrol and electricity. All hybrids use regenerative braking: energy is put back into the battery when braking, improving energy efficiency and reducing brake wear.
